Pour une somme dérisoire, John Humphries achète en 1968 un vieil hôtel dans la petite ville de Wotton-under-Edge dans le Gloucestershire. Le bâtiment fut construit en 1145 et servait autrefois de presbytère.
Cependant dès son arrivée, le nouveau propriétaire expérimente des phénomènes bizarres et inquiétants : Des coups frappés sur les portes bien sur, mais aussi des mains glacées qui se posent sur lui et ses clients pendant leur sommeil, lesquels clients sont parfois mis à bas de leur chaise pendant le repas, sa fille est hantée par un fantomatique chat noir, des fenêtres dûment verrouillées s’ouvrent toutes seules, le must de la hantise donc…
Visiblement plusieurs fantômes règnent là, un enfant qui pleure, une femme du nom de Lady Elizabeth qui aurait été assassinée dans l’hôtel puis enterrée sous le bar et la pièce la plus hantée semble être une chambre nommée la « chambre de l’évêque ».
Bien sur des flots de curieux se déversent régulièrement à l’hôtel, mais bizarrement les appareils photos tombent souvent en panne à l’intérieur et retrouvent leur fonctionnement correct en sortant… Et sur le peu de photos prises, on voit des vapeurs, des ombres et même un visage étrange sur une horloge.

You really make it seem so easy with your presentation but I find this matter to be actually something that I think I would never
understand. It seems too complicated and extremely broad for me.
